MY LOVE FOR FLOWERS
How Flowers Changed My Life
Here’s my very vulnerable story about me and my love for flowers...
My first semester of college I took a flower arranging class for fun. After my first semester I went and served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. After coming home early due to becoming sick I found myself in a funk. Fast forward one month later and I found myself homeless only owning the clothes on my back due to losing my town to the deadliest fire in California history, the Camp Fire. As time went on and we started to get our footing again I felt the strong need to go back to school rather than returning to my mission, however, I had no job, no housing, and was not registered for school. This is where everything began to fall into place. My now husband and I drove to Idaho where I began to work at a bridal shop and due to my flower arranging teacher, was able to register for all of his flower classes even though my major was exercise science at the time. My love started to grow for flowers and the feelings that came with them. Last year because of the fire and other events in my life, I was diagnosed with anxiety, PTSD, and depression. I am so grateful for my husband and the support he showed me during my darkest days. While trying to figure out the best medication for me, my love for flowers continued to be a light in my life. With the help of an amazing friend and the support of family, Atkin Arrangements began. I had found a new hop in helping others dreams become a reality. I truly value every client relationship I have gained through this experience. I am so grateful to be able to do something I love and that has truly changed my outlook on life. Thank you for being part of that journey.
